About the Role
This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Senior Manager Data Governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding data stewardship practices across BSP Financial Group Ltd, ensuring the governance, management, and protection of BSP’s data assets. The role entails defining data standards, policies, and processes to manage data effectively while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline. Certifications in data governance or quality (e.g., CDP, CDA) are advantageous. Experience: At least 5 years in data management or analysis, with a strong track record in enterprise data stewardship.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, data governance frameworks, and tools like Collibra. Familiarity with BI tools and Python is a plus.

Key Deliverables
- Data Standards and Policies: Develop and maintain data management policies, standards, and guidelines to promote effective governance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Data Asset Management: Identify, catalog, and monitor critical data assets to ensure alignment with business needs and governance policies.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Partner with data owners, stewards, and IT teams to manage data assets effectively and create business rules, metrics, and dashboard visualizations.
- Enterprise Data Catalogue: Maintain and enhance BSP’s enterprise data catalogue, ensuring metadata quality and data discoverability.
- Education and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve data literacy and stewardship practices across the organization.
