Qualifications
• Trade Certificate in Light or Heavy Mechanic
• 5-8 years’ experience in similar role
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• Working of knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directions
• Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment
• Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment
• Have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Carry out weekly inspections on fleet/forklift/Genset and complete checklists
- Carry out all routine planned servicing and maintenance in house
- Report all defects noted during servicing and assist with correct quotes estimates for repairs
- Assist workshop manager to plan for all planned maintenance
- Be reliable to maintain and carry our regular vehicle assessment reports
- Provide accurate estimates (costs, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
- Keep logs on work and issues
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
- Testing parts and systems to ensure they work correctly.
