Job Summary
About the Role:
BSP is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Paralegal Officer to join our Legal Services team. This position plays a vital role in supporting legal operations, particularly in debt recovery processes and ensuring efficient court-related documentation and filing.

Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, the Paralegal Officer will be responsible for filing and searching court documents, assisting legal officers, and carrying out District Court debt recovery functions (excluding court appearances). The role also involves research, preparation of legal documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 education. Diploma or Degree in Legal Studies desirable.
2-3 years’ experience in legal or paralegal roles.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
At least 2 years of experience in court filing/searching and District Court debt recovery.
Basic understanding of District and National Court procedures.
Strong file management, legal documentation, and administrative skills.
Exposure to fraud investigation and legal research.
Experience in preparing court documentation such as affidavits and enforcement pleadings.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Undertake court filing and searches for legal matters across the District, National, and Supreme Courts.

  • Serve legal documents and provide support in debt recovery processes for Asset Management Unit (AMU).

  • Assist legal officers with case preparation, drafting affidavits, and maintaining case files.

  • Prepare legal documents for debt recovery and enforcement proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and investigate facts to support case development.

  • Ensure monthly legal matters reports are compiled and submitted on time.

  • Monitor and update legal volumes and precedents.

  • Coordinate witness appearances and assist with administrative legal tasks as directed.
